with stronger poles you would need 100 mph duct tape

This is a wonderful tent. Mine came dirty and full of sand, so it took a lot of cleaning to scrub off the mildew due to the jarhead who put it away wet. It is also a little heavy for solo backpacking, about 8 pounds. It would be okay for two campers splitting the load. Get a Eureka rectangular floor saver (plastic) because it does not come with one. The floor saver will prolong the life of your tent. I slept in this tent for two weeks during a trip to the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex of western Montana. With the fly velcroed to the tent body and the tent staked down, this tent is rock solid and became an old friend. Montana was too dry so I finally got to test the tent's waterproofness during a 2 inch driving rainstorm in Minnesota. To keep the tent absolutely dry, buy some eighth inch nylon rope and attach 2 foot pieces to the guy out loops on the bottom of the tent. Stake these out and it will insure the fly covers the floor of the tent enough to keep you dry. It is also a good idea to apply seam sealer to all stitched areas on the bathtub floor and to the fly. Happy camping!

I love this tent. I have used it several times in the mountains and desert. In both cold and hot weather.
