An undergarment, primarily designed for protection at mean monthly temperatures of plus 14 degrees Fahrenheit (minus 10 degrees Celsius) to plus 68 degrees Fahrenheit (plus 20 degrees Celsius). The underwear is made of knitted, brushed, multifilament polypropylene. The underwear layer next to the skin acts as a moisture wicking layer and serves to draw moisture away from the skin, transferring it to the outer layers of the ECWC system.
The undershirt is a brown-colored turtleneck that has a center front zipper which extends to the middle of the chest area. The zipper allows for ventilation at the neck and chest area.
